Saturday Trip to Belgium

Hello Everyone Again,
I just wrote a previous post and its already 11:00PM here but I am just so excited to share these pictures with you! Saturday I took a trip again with Mary up to Belgium. She had already been to Belgium before in Brussels but Ghent was a new experience for the both of us. It was a 2 hour drive up to Brussels and we left about 8:00AM I quickly learned that the French DO NOT eat in the car. I was really embarrassed because I had no clue! If you know me well, I always got the snacks! haha So I brought an egg sandwich for breakfast and some fruit, plus I packed a lunch! OOPS! That was somewhat of a culture shock for me. But it makes sense because they don't do much of "drive thru's" Heres a picture of the inside of the car we traveled in. Mary drove one of the BLF cars all the way which I was really appreciative for. But this car is super neat, very european to me... Cool right?
Belgique is French for Belgium. Our first stop in Belgium was Brussels and I felt like it took forever to get to the city but once I arrived, I was completely amazed. We walked around until we could find street signs
Can you imagine trying to look at that across the road driving?! Man that was crazy hard! Anyways here are some of my shots of the trip! Hope you like them!
I love old buildings with billboards like this...

Me at the Grandplace (Grote Markt) Brussels
On my way to the next site.. Mannekin Pis
Mannekin Pis was Dressed up today!
Walking away from the statute the the area was absolutely breath taking!

Getting close to the Palais de Justice I saw Queen Elizabeth! haha well.. just the statue.
Can you believe this is a REAL belgium palace
Golden Gates!!
Walking past the Palais to Cathedral Saint Michael et. ste. Gudule
Cathedral Saint Michael et. ste. Gudule was my first european church I have seen, I cannot wait to see more. This was above and beyond what I expected!

And who can go to Belgium and not have a Real Belgium waffle? mmmmm sooo yummy!

Cant wait to post Ghent! Au Revoir until then!

Love and a Hug,
Nicole
